HOW CAN YOU HELP? HERE ARE TWO WAYS:

Become a foster parent to a pet.

At K9Kastle we have got a great team of fosters who house, socialize, and love the cats we pull regularly from the ACC.
But we urgently need more!

Why foster? Fostering a companion animal is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have. (We confess—we lose many of our foster parents to adoption!) By taking on an animal in need temporarily into your home you are:

  • Giving a foster cat or dog the time they need to be ready for adoption

  • Socializing them within a home environment, possibly getting them used to being around other animals and different types of people

  • Freeing up a spot at our boarding facility so we can pull more animals off the street and from being at-risk at the shelters

  • Helping us learn more about the pet so we can find the best possible home for them

We are searching for the right spot to open our own adoption center, but in the meantime, as we continue to pull more at-risk cats and dogs from the ACC, we need your help.

Become a volunteer.

While getting our animals healthy, fostered and adopted is our main mission, we always are on the lookout for reliable volunteers.
Would you like to donate some time?

K9Kastle is an IRC 501(c)3 rescue organization that saves at-risk companion animals from the city streets and shelters.

We show the cats in Brooklyn Petco stores and at adoption events, and we need your help caring for them there. We house cats at the three southern Brooklyn locations (Bensonhurst, Sheepshead Bay and Kings Plaza/Marine Park areas).

We need volunteers who can commit to caring for them on a regular schedule of at least once a week. Each "shift" takes about 30-45 minutes (cleaning cages, feeding them, changing water, socializing the kitties). We have two shifts a day at each of the stores. If you can help, we ask that you:Ÿ

  • Are at least 18 years oldŸ

  • Participate in orientation or trainingŸ

  • Commit to shifts 1-3 times a week
